South Australian Trend and Condition Report Cards 2020
Find out about the health of South Australia's natural environment, and how it is changing over time
Click to download full report The 2020 set of 38 environmental trend and condition report cards communicate the current condition of our natural environment, and how it is changing (trending) over time.
They encompass our key environmental assets, such as: water resources, native vegetation, and soil. They also set out our environmental pressures, such as pest plants and animals, climate, and air quality; and summarise the government's management responses, including both marine and land protected areas.
These report cards present the most complete picture we've ever had on the successes and challenges South Australia faces in managing our natural resources, and will be used to support on-ground decision making at a local level, and inform policy making at a state level.
The report cards are a collaborative product of the Department for Environment and Water, EPA, Primary Industries and Regions SA, and the Bureau of Meteorology.
Our approach to trend and condition report cards
Click for more information on SA's approach to report cards Our report cards assess and summarise the current condition of the environment, the trend or change in condition over time, as well as the reliability of the information.
Each 1-page report card is summarised in a 'snapshot', and also links to a technical document that describes the underpinning data and analyses.
The information used to develop our report cards is compiled from South Australia's environmental datasets. These datasets gather information from across government agencies, NGOs, universities, field naturalists, and industry.
